Conferences

Congratulations!

We have made it past our first round of conferences and I had a blast getting to brag about all of my amazing students. It was so great to meet with all of the parents and I appreciated the chance for us to visit. I am blessed with such a great class and I look forward to the growth we will make this year.

Here are some things to watch for:

Hat day is tomorrow to support United Way. Wear a hat for $1.

Shhh! Don't tell yet, we won a pizza party for our fundraiser (YEA!!) and will be celebrating tomorrow. Our class thought we fell short but we must have miscounted. It is going to be awesome to be able to celebrate our hard work. We raised lots of money for PTA and we look forward to the difference that money will make for our school and students.

Westside Wildcat apparel order forms went home during conferences. They are due on Nov. 9th.

Make sure you can check and are checking grades online. I want you to stay as up-to-date as possible and one way is to have access to your child's grades online. Please contact the office if you need help.

Also, FOLLOW OUR BLOG :-)! If you enter your email address, it will notify you every time I post. Again, I only want you to stay as informed as possible.

Fargo Force Reading is underway. We are almost through our first month. The goal is high and there are prizes for the class and student who read the most minutes, so let's all do our part and READ, READ, READ!

Upcoming events/projects:

We are moving on in math to Unit 3. Our focus is measurement.

Reading we have been learning about fact and opinion, adding -er to words and about verbs.

Writing we are illustrating our first published stories and are moving on to adding adjectives and other words for 'said'.

Science we are still studying rocks and Social Studies we are still learning about communities.

As always, if you have any questions, comments, suggestions or even positive feedback I love to hear it all. Enjoy the LONG weekend (no school Thursday and Friday).

Until another day...

Mrs. Farkas
